The rainforest investigation is being undertaken using the inquiry-model of learning in use throughtout the school.

IMMERSION

Students will be immersed in information about the rainforest and how humans interact with it.

BRAINSTORM

This information willthen be gathered, sorted and classified.

WHAT DO I WANT TO KNOW?

Students will then come up with questions to fill in gaps in their knowledge. They will also pose questions regarding finding solutions to the issues and threats that they have identified.

HOW WILL I FIND OUT?

Students identify ways that they can find the extra information that they need.

CREATE IT

In small groups students will work together to produce a piece of work that answers the major question that they have posed regarding threats and issues to the rainforest.

SHARE IT

Students share there major project and receive feedback from fellow students.

LIFT OFF

Students reflect on the quality of their own work and their involvement in the group activity.
